Question by David Clarke: El Nino And La Nina Weather Patterns?
How many times doers these occur and how are they differ from each other?
Answer by cyswxman
El Nino occurs about every 3 to 5 years, while La Nina occurs a little more often, about every 3 years. Consecutive La Ninas are more common than consecutive El Nino’s. They differ in that El Nino is when tropical central and eastern Pacific Ocean waters are warmer than normal, while La Nina is when those waters are cooler than normal.
