Question by MadProf: Do you believe the latest long-range economic and weather forecasts?

Makes me realize I’m in the wrong business.

In the short range – yes more so, in the long range – not really. Also both are easily affected by things that are hard to model.

The weather forecasts seem so seldom to be correct I’ve stopped listening and just have a look outside instead.

No way. Nobody can predict the future and there are so many things that effect economic and weather forecasts. Mother Nature and humanity are 2 of the biggest factors. There could be a huge earthquake or volcano eruption etc that would effect weather. Or the human factor, such as more assinations or terrorism. One can never know what is in store.
